New iPhone 4S launched today

14th October 2011

The release of iPhone 4S, instead of the highly-anticipated iPhone 5, initially disappointed many Apple fans. However, the company claims that iPhone 4S is a big hit since more than one million people ordered it in the first 24 hours after bookings had started online.

iPhone 4S hit the market at 8am today. (14th October) and the price started at £199 for upgrades. The company is likely to experience record-breaking sales today at each of its 357 Apple Stores worldwide.

On Monday Apple released a statement which confirmed that “the pre-orders of iPhone 4S have topped one million.” The last record was set in June 2010 when iPhone 4 was released with a sale of 600,000 units in a day.

Apple released it’s much anticipated iOS 5 on Wednesday, after a few glitches with so many people downloading the update it seems the new software has pleased many of Apple’s devoted fans.
