Technology for Advertising and Marketing Manchester. What 3Squared learnt

16th May 2013

Two members of the 3Squared marketing team visited the Technology for Marketing and Advertising Event in Manchester this week, to explore the latest technology available to the marketing industry.

There were some big names showcasing their services in the recently redeveloped Manchester Central, formerly the G-Mex.  The first seminar of the day was held Dan Beckett of Bureau van Dijk, who discussed the importance of using both internal and external data strategically.

Next up was James Steiger, Business Development Officer at email marketing providers, Emailcentre.  Although possibly aimed more towards business to consumer organisations, the principles of email marketing that were discussed certainly remain the same for businesses like 3Squared.

After a well-earned lunch we joined a lively debate hosted by the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing, with advice on managing social media and how it can build brand awareness and customer engagement.   Some creative questions from the audience gave the panel something to think about, but there were some great answers on the effective use of social media in a marketing campaign.

Our final session was held by John Watton of Silverpop, the digital marketing specialists.  This was an interesting talk detailing the importance of sending relevant messages to the right people, but more importantly, at the right time.

The 3Squared team gained valuable insights into the latest methods used and technology available in reaching new clients, managing data and forging lasting working relationships.   Thanks to everyone at Technology for Marketing and Advertising, see you next year!
